MAPS Festival
MAPS Festival is a festival for the North East which explores music, art and play. MAPS aims to bring a wide breadth of high quality cultural activity to families, without censorship or limitations, to provide activities that parents and children will enjoy in equal measure - all the culture without the compromise.
The family festival, produced by Chalk, started in 2019 with a 3 day packed to the brim programme featuring Viz for Kids, Cat DJs, a journey to the other side of the galaxy with Henge, a live podcast recording, an art market, a baby gig from Rozi Plain, and much more.
In 2020, the festival grew to a 10 day extravaganza across multiple venues in Newcastle and Gateshead. The festival centred around immersive art experiences, gigs and workshops. Featuring gigs galore, a fart orchestra, an electronic playground, lip syncing, voguing, a playful protest and takeovers.
